Oscar-winning actress Glenn Close nominated the Hill family for an “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” A community of volunteers will build the structure.
The Kansas family of a U.S. soldier injured in Iraq was surprised with a knock on their door Sunday from the television program “Extreme Makeover Home Edition.” Staff Sgt. Allen Hill, of Ottawa, was nearly killed by a roadside bomb while serving in Iraq. He has recovered from the physical wounds, but the injuries that can’t be seen still haunt him. Environmental triggers such as loud noises, dimly lit spaces and long hallways can instigate episodes of post traumatic stress disorder.
J.R. and his team is involved in volunteer projects through out kansas city. We love our community and giving back to the Hill Family was a privilege.
